Nicolas is joined by Enriqueta Sistachs, Professor of Harp at the National Conservatory (middle); and students in the harp class at the National Conservatory of the Dominican Republic

Ellen Brager, Executive Director of Traveling Notes, presents a violin and viola from MisionMusica to Hipolito Javier Guerrero, director of the School of Music at the Universidad Autoroma de Santo Domingo.

The instruments will be put to use immediately by university music students.

Nicolas Paulino (third from left) presents a cello donated to MisionMusic, by Ruth Berry of Evans, Georgia,  to Rebecca Jolibois, a Haitian cellist who lost all her belongings, including her instrument, in the devastating January earthquake.

Rebecca is working to rebuild her life as a professional musician in the Dominican Republic, but was in urgent need of a cello to be able to do so. The cello Ms. Berry has donated will not only provide Rebecca with an income, it will allow her to regain a sense of normalcy after the terrible trauma she went through and will no doubt assist in the healing process.
